Enemy Behaviour on 22 December 1941:

Enemy has the intent to cut the retreat south of the forces still remaining in the area of Benghazi. During the recent days, aerial reconnaissance confirmed radio intercepts that the mass of 4th Indian Division in the area east of el Abiar was regrouped, and that 7th Armoured Division was pushed forward into the area Msus – Sceleidima – Antelat. While enemy east of el Abiar also did not advance today, enemy tank forces – apparently 4th Armoured Brigade, attacked Beda Fomm via Antelat during the afternoon. 22 Guards Brigade occupied Saunnu. D.A.K. commenced a counterattack against the enemy advance via Antelat in late afternoon. Reports about the results of the engagement are not available yet.
