10 March 1941

Arrival and Departure of Subordinated Troops:

Arrived in Tripolis:

I./Pz.Regiment 5.

German combat reconnaissance reaches Marada during the morning and reports the oasis to be free of enemy.

Around mid-day the 8th Naval Transport Squadron arrives in Tripoli, at 15.30 hours the 9th Naval Transport Squadron. The transports had to be strongly protected by naval units and aircraft, since British fleet units were reported nearby, but they arrived without incident. One vessel of the 9th Squadron had to return to Palermo due to engine trouble. The cargo of both transports was primarily PR5.

Officers and civil servants of the Corps Staff arrived in Tripoli by plane.

Following the inspection of the engineer depot in which Molotov Cocktails for combating tanks were produced, the Commander welcomed the newly arrived gentlemen of the Corps Staff and the officers of Panzer-Regiment 5 who had already arrived.

Lt.Col. von Hoesslin and Lieutenant Conrad took over the business as O 1 and O 5[1], which was until now undertaken on an interim basis by Lt. v. Goerne. Lt. v. Goerne will for the moment become Aide de Camp to the Chief of Staff.
